Battle of the Atlantic Podcast

Battle of the Atlantic podcast – now live!

A new podcast dedicated to the Battle of the Atlantic has launched and is now available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and all major streaming platforms.

Titled Battle of the Atlantic, the series sets the tone for the upcoming Battle of the Atlantic Museum, currently under construction at Woodside Ferry in Birkenhead.

The first episode features Dean Paton, Chief Executive of Big Heritage, who outlines the vision for the museum and provides an update on progress at the Woodside site.

The podcast will bring this pivotal Second World War campaign to life through expert insight, local heritage, behind-the-scenes updates and the voices of those shaping the project.

Future episodes will explore themes including The Build, The Story and The Connections.

The new museum will be the world’s first dedicated to the longest continuous military campaign of the Second World War. It will centre around U-534 , the only U-boat ever raised from the seabed after combat.

Dean Paton, Chief Executive of Big Heritage, said: “We wanted to create something that brings people closer to the story of the Battle of the Atlantic while the museum takes shape and builds excitement for what’s to come.

“This podcast gives a voice to those connected to the story and the project. We’ll be exploring the history, the people, the place and the journey.

“We’re delighted the first episode is now live and look forward to welcoming more fascinating guests in future episodes.”

When it opens, the museum will feature immersive exhibition spaces and thousands of original artefacts, telling the story from the shores of the Mersey, where it was won.
